India vs Sri Lanka 4th ODI Match Highlights – INDIAN Innings Overview
India Won the toss Choose to bat.
What a scintillating batting display by the Indians there. After winning the toss and opting to bat this was exactly what they would have been hoping for. They did not get off to the best of starts by Losing Dhawan early but Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma smashed the Lankan bowlers black and blue. With both of them scoring tons. India at once looked like they would reach 400 but a few quick wickets in between pulled back things a little. Manish Pandey and the ever reliable MS Dhoni steadied the ship but India were not able to finish on a high. They are at least 20 runs short of where they could have been.
What should’ve been 450 has now been reduced to 375 for 5. “That itself is a victory for Sri Lanka,” says Russell Arnold on commentary. That really sums up what has been another leather hunt for Sri Lanka. Kohli and Rohit feasted on some toothless bowling to bring up centuries – could have been double centuries to both – before Pandey and Dhoni prevented a middle order slide and provided the late spark. KL Rahul would be disappointed after a third successive failure. Dhawan too would be kicking himself for missing out on what was a belter of a surface. That said, India did enough to stamp their authority. 288 is the highest total successfully chased down here. Sri Lanka will have to do something magical to prevent India from going 4-0 up.

Sri Lanka VS India 4th ODI Hightlights – Sri Lankan Innings
Sri Lanka have come up with a timid batting performance to succumb to their sixth successive ODI defeat. India are 4-0 up. Where urgency was the need of the hour in chase of a mammoth target, batsmen came out swinging blindly without purpose or a plan. Angelo Mathews offered some resistance, but that was no consolation, for it simply delayed the inevitable. As for India, who rode magnificent tons from Rohit and Kohli earlier in the day, this was another proper workout. Shardul Thakur, on ODI debut, was zippy and impressive with the new ball. Axar Patel had a rough day, but with little pressure on the bowlers, India didn’t need to look for a Plan B. For fans who demand better from Sri Lanka, this will be another bitter pill to swallow. Where next? I don’t think anyone has an answer to that at the moment.
The Indian bowlers were on the money again. Shardul Thakur had a great debut, picking up a wicket and going under 4 runs per over. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav each scalped a couple of wickets with Axar Patel getting one. Their fielding was also good this time around and they inflicted two run outs as well. Also a talking point of this match would be their use of UDRS, which was spot on every time thanks to Dhoni.

Srilanka vs India 4th ODI Cricket Highlights Event
Lasith Malinga hasn’t had a great first ODI as captain. “300th wicket is just a number,” he says. ” I’m happy, but we lost which is very unfortunate. It’s not easy. Last five matches, we didn’t post 250. Young players want to perform well, they’re all excited but we haven’t been able to come up with our best. They need the experience. Hopefully they will do their best over the next few months.
Angelo Mathews then stood tall in the middle. He combined well with Milinda Siriwardana and stitched a 73-run stand for the 5th wicket. After the latter departed, the ex-skipper carried on and reached his 34th ODI fifty. However, he kept running out of partners and in the end lost his way as well. After that, the Indians bowled out the Islanders in a hurry.
Here’s something for the boxing fans out there: India’s Gaurav Bidhuri takes on USA’s Duke Ragan, looking for a historic silver medal at the World Boxing Championships in Hamburg.
