Corona – Free New Zealand Would Be A Better Choice To Stage ICC World T20: Dean Jones

Former Australian cricketer Dean Jones has come up with a new idea to make ICC Cricket World Cup 2022 possible amid ongoing coronavirus concerns. The Australian great wants the tournament to be shifted to New Zealand because the country is among the safest places available today with the authorities already managing the novel coronavirus outbreak efficiently and life will soon be coming back to normal in the country.

“Jacinda Ardern said NZ could move to alert level 1 next week, which means all social distancing measures and curbs on mass gatherings will be lifted, she said. Maybe play the T20 WC there?” he tweeted.

It’s important to mention here that there haven’t been any new cases reported in New Zealand for last 14 days and the country’s Premier, Jacinda Ardern, might even suspend the social distancing instructions in the next few weeks as well.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council hasn’t yet confirmed if the tournament will be moving ahead on schedule or if there’s a change of plans. The ICC board meeting was deferred due to the breach of some confidential documents and we haven’t heard any news since then.
