Asia Cup 2022 Prediction Who Will Win?

To be honest, the competition between the Asian Teams these days is so fierce that you never know exactly who is going to win. And, when the format is T20, things get even serious and even the minnows like Afghanistan can play like champs on their day outsmarting even the best in the world.

Hot Favorites To Win The Asia Cup 2022

You can bet on team India on any day when it comes to deciding the favorites to win a certain tournament. And, if you look back in recent history, they have by far been the best sides in Asia in all the formats of the game. The approach Indians take to the game is too aggressive and they do not really allow any other team to come even close to them in class. The players they have in their current lineup really make it all look like a child’s play and winning games is like a habit to them now.

The bashing Rohit Sharma does on top alongside players like Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul is simply unbeatable. Rohit Sharma has changed his style of batting a lot in recent years and he is a class apart now. Besides, the middle order is as stable as anything with players like Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Manish Pandey playing some wonderful cricket. The bowling unit is quite strong too and there are a variety of options available with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, Navdeep Saini and Yuzvendra Chahal.

So, team India will certainly be the favorites and if you look at their recent T20I record, you’ll be pretty convinced about that too.

Do Pakistan Have a Chance?

Pakistan are currently ranked No.1 in the T20Is and that puts India a couple of spots below them. So, why aren’t they the favorites to win the Asia Cup T20? Well, the issue is what we already know about Pakistan – their inconsistency. Even though they are the best in the T20Is, they can play their worst cricket on any day to lose the game. Still, we’d say they have all the ingredients to beat the best in the world and come out victorious on their day.

Pakistan’s recent series win against Bangladesh showed what they are capable of as they defeated the opposition all ends up and never let them take control of the proceedings at any stage in any game. Babar Azam remains Pakistan batting ace across formats and he’ll play a key part if Pakistan are to win this. Besides, Pakistan’s pace battery is definitely going to be a challenge for the other teams to manage. Players like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Hasnain, and Haris Rauf are pretty hard to tackle when they are at their best. And, if Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim get into their groove, they can be devastating too.

Bangladesh, Sri Lanka or Afghanistan?

Bangladesh once used to be the Asian minnows but they have really come a long way forward and can be a close contestant to win the cup. Sri Lanka are going through sort of a rebuilding phase and that reduces their chances to win the tournament. Afghanistan will really have to play above par in order to be an outfit that can win the tournament. They may still win a few contests in the tournament.
